Abstract:

"The article considers the radical institutional reforms which led to the introduction of the ITQs, Individual Transferable Quotas,in the fisheries of New Zealand. It also gives and assessment of the functioning of these ITQs and the incremental institutional innovations triggered by this reform. The working of the ITQ-system is also considered by the point of view of the new economic sociology."
