Abstract: "The objective of this study is: to study the state policy which violates the Karen's rights, uncovering the mentality, ideology, and multiple forms of power wielding by the state, and how groups of people are interconnected at various levels; to uncover the structural problem of power in Thai society; to study the Karen's movement to protect their rights to resource management and cultural identity rights, leading to understanding the struggle that sheds new lights on the definition of community rights regarding culture and resources."
