Abstract: "To avoid further damage to the environment, a new integrated and adaptive approach is needed to manage the water used by agro-ecosystems. This should maximize the number of ecosystem services that farming landscapes supply. This will require efforts to make people more aware of the benefits that ecosystem services provide and informed consideration of the trade-offs between producing food and sustaining other ecosystem services."
