Abstract:	"The Development Target set by the UN Millennium Assembly in 2000 is to halve by 2015 the proportion of people living in extreme poverty, of those who suffer from hunger, and of those who are unable to reach or afford safe drinking water. In the effort to achieve these far reaching goals, freshwater and skillful water resources management will have to play a fundamental role."
