Abstract: "San Miguel Bay in Camarines Sur province of the Philippines is a major fishing ground on the country's Pacific coast. The bay is relatively shallow and very productive. While a great variety of fishes make up the aggregate catch, the most important in terms of economic value are the shrimps. Aside from its productivity, the bay is instructive as a case study because it is a very well defined fishery where the patterns of population pressure and resource over-exploitation may be clearly identified."
