dc.description.abstract "The distribution of water resources in space and time is influenced by a combination of natural processes and human actions. In this thesis methods are explored that take into account interdependencies between water use and water availability in the Jaguaribe basin in the northeast of Brazil. These methods are helpful in understanding and managing the spatiotemporal effects of developments in rainfall and spatial planning in semi-arid river basins." en_US
