"The paper tries to assess the extent of access the rural poor have to CPRs both in the recent past as well as at present, and the impact of developmental programmes through CPRs on the rural poor. It also examines to what extent these programmes are helpful in improving the access of the rural poor to CPRs, and how far the rural poor have been involved in the regeneration of degraded CPRs. Though the investigation is limited only to the state of Karnataka, it is believed that the findings are a pointer to what is happening in general in India at large." |
