"This paper recounts the historical development of the Chao Phraya river basin over the second half of last century and shows how supply and demand have evolved in parallel and how the society at large has coped with growing imbalances. This example serves to illustrate the consequences of 'basin closure' in Thailand and to discuss their policy implications."
