Abstract
"This qualitative study examines legislators' perceptions on Participatory Forest Management (PFM)-related issues as well as their participation in the process of policy formulation and policy implementation in Madhya Pradesh province of India. This study is primarily based on open-ended interviews and response to a set of 48 statements concerning issues related to PFM. The purposive sampling was confined to low and high forest cover districts having less than 14% and more than 31% forest cover respectively, and around 10 percent Members of Legislative Assembly (MLA)were chosen from such districts providing a total sample of 15 MLAs from 14 districts."
