dc.description.abstract"The objective of this paper is to provide a brief assessment of the status of well irrigation and conjunctive use in Maharashtra. In light of the assessment, we will note areas where assistance could be used to improve the status of conjunctive use. The focus of the paper is on minor irrigation systems. Minor irrigation systems serve less than 2,000 ha and usually consist of a small tank for storing water and a canal distribution system. The development of surface irrigation has led to a rise in wells due to canal seepage in the command areas."en_US
