Abstract

"The present study analyzes welfare gains due to higher levels of air pollution in the urban city of Kanpur, one of the urban conglomerations in India. The city is known as the 'Commercial Capital' of Uttar Pradesh. However, over the years it has acquired the notoriety of being one of the most polluted cities in the country.
