Abstract
"Reviews of our accumulated understanding of international conflict appear with reasonable regularity. Those that examine our comprehension of global cooperation surface infrequently and tend to be more partial. This paper is a survey of a various literatures on cooperation, with attention to three questions: (1) How does context (issue character and actor configuration) shape potential for cooperation? (2) What are the forms or types of cooperation? (3) What are the dynamics of developing or strengthening cooperation? The paper also identifies and explores some approaches to better integrating various literatures on cooperation."
